We Sisters of Mercy are an international community of Roman Catholic women who dedicate our lives to the Gospel of Jesus and take vows of poverty, chastity, obedience, and service.
Inspired by the life of Jesus and by our founder Catherine McAuley, we envision a just world for people who are poor, sick, and undereducated.
The Sisters sponsor and serve in more than 200 organizations that serve those in need in the U.S., Central and South America, Jamaica, Guam, and the Philippines.
Life with Mercy might be right for you if you are:
a Catholic woman between the ages of 20 and 45.
sensing that God is calling you to a life of prayer, community, and service.
drawn to living religious vows of poverty, chastity, obedience and service of those who are poor, sick and undereducated.
ready to help change the world!
"The poor need help today, not next week."
—Catherine McAuley, Founder of the Sisters of Mercy
Our lives as Sisters of Mercy are grounded in prayer, and focused on responding to unmet needs through direct service, and by seeking ways to change unjust systems.
Sisters of Mercy minister in hospitals, schools, parishes, prisons, retreat centers, and as social justice advocates.
The ways to spread mercy to others are endless!
